On June 18, 2009, Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration held its annual fundraiser honoring prominent civil rights attorney, author and Harvard professor Charles Ogletree, Esquire as well as NY State Commissioner of Department of Housing and Community Renewal Deborah VanAmerongen. CBS News Anchor Maurice Dubois was the Master of Ceremonies.
